The Vancouver Jazz Orchestra welcomes legendary drummer Carl Allen for a special concert celebrating one of jazz’s most respected and versatile artists. With a career spanning more than four decades, Allen has performed and recorded with an extraordinary roster of jazz greats, including Freddie Hubbard, Jackie McLean, Joe Henderson, McCoy Tyner, Benny Golson, and Christian McBride, among many others. A master of swing, groove, and musical leadership, Allen brings deep tradition and contemporary vitality to the bandstand. Joined by the Vancouver Jazz Orchestra, this performance promises an evening of powerful ensemble playing, inspired improvisation, and world-class artistry. Two shows: 5:30pm and 8pm.
